Plant Surveys

These days, most lakes managing to control invasive plants will have a management plan in place.  Aquatic Plant Management Plans (APM) typically require an aquatic plant survey to be performed once every five years.  The survey is important to record changes in plant communities and the impact of invasives.

Lakeland Biologists follows WDNR protocol for plant surveys.  Survey points are imported into GPS units and each point on the lake is surveyed to identify the type of aquatic vegetation present along with the plant density, water depth and sediment type.

We are available to construct or update an Aquatic Plant Management Plan or updated plant survey.  Our Biologists are experienced to provide a full management plan to comply with WDNR requirements.
